This has been an amazing journey to take with you!

I was hooked right from the start and i found myself riding this journey with kirk; his frustration and his love and his friendships. the need to have spock be okay and to watch the events unfold with spock's agoraphobia and the efforts taken by his loved ones to go out there and make it happen was so good.

bones! and joanna! my two favourite characters were very well fleshed out and they became my favourites in this fic, too and you are so good at characterisation, whilst i am on it! they are very recognisable as the characters they love and your consistency in keeping them that way is something i would strive for ;)

thank you very much for this wonderful piece of work. i love it and you should be very proud of it :)

This whole story felt like a beautiful journey that Spock and Jim had taken and I was there through all their troubles, fears, triumphs, and failures. Their feelings touched me and their actions inspired me. I love every characters that graced the story and every twist and turn you taken but, really, what I love most of was Jim and Spock's relationship. How it was a trial and error and how it toughen up through it all. I admit, I was more than a little emotional at the end /o\ but it was fitting and I was so happy for them; they deserved it after everything they went through <3.

Basically, I love this wonderfully beautiful story and thank you so much for sharing it.

Yay! I'm glad I finally decided to strap myself in and read this story :)

(it's beautiful, btw . . )

I'm a very steadfast, undying TOS fan, and I'm generally unenthusiastic about reading any nu!Trek fiction . . .

The only exception is your body of work :) I genuinely enjoy reading your Abram's Trek stories. I love your characterizations of Kirk and Spock, and the stories themselves are very well-written.

So . . . great job at being awesome :D

@Skud Thank you. Kudos to O'Reilly for giving you a slot to speak, shame it wasn't lgneor. I second the calls for an opportunity for you to speak again. The thing about all this which amazes me every time the issue is raised is the number of people who step up to comment and defend our community's lack of diversity by using the same tired old arguments like it's some sort of natural order. It's curious. So on top of the great keynote, I also want to thank you for your efforts in founding the geek feminism site on wikia. It has become a truly fabulous clearing house for info, argument and anecdote. It's a good place to look when trying to debunk those myths. I myself have stopped trying to argue against political correctness, free speech, let me be myself', and we are all emotionally retarded and can't bring ourselves to appreciate the needs of others' type arguments. We should also remember this is a particularly western issue there are more women coders in Iran and Malaysia, a lot more. And the low numbers of women coding in open source also has much to do with women generally having less time to hack and tinker. Women's roles as care givers and home makers eats up more of their spare' time, often preventing them from contributing to open source projects. Dreamwidth, OTW and Drupal are also now showing the broader community that there is a different way of doing things. This is a complex issue but it has been fought and won before. There are slightly more women graduating from medicine than men. Just as there are slightly more women in the population. The numbers of women graduating from maths, physics, chemistry and engineering also continues to grow, and yet in western countries the number of women graduating from computer science and software engineering has been falling. Why?We need to learn from those other so called hard' disciplines, that have been male dominated for so long, and see if we can borrow a strategy or two.

Wow! What a totally AWESOME and original story! I was hooked from the start and didn't want to stop until the end! ...AND I have to stay extra thanks, because this totally saved my weekend, because apparently, sharks decided to camp out at the island we were visiting for a few days for the 4th (they attacked a girl - bit her foot and leg but no 'serious' damage). SO since the whole point of going there was the beach and ocean not the social/night-life(which is non-existent) there wasn't much to do other than lay on the beach and read. I'd been wanting to read this since it was first posted, but was waiting for it to be non-WIP.:P So it was like birthday and Christmas together to find this complete! ^_^
Anyway, (enough with my shark-ruined beach trip!-I blame BP!) thanks for sharing this amazing story! It's one of those fics that's just so different... it has that something special really sets it apart.

wonderful story, very well-written. your portrayal of these character's tribulations is spot on. honestly, it is very rare a fanfic that touches on the subject, and the way you developed this has been incredible. very, very satisfying all the way from start to finish!

congratulations on such beautiful work. i look forward to reading more from you in the future.

I read the cover art as saying, "James T. Kirk in Spock"

Which was wrong, of course. But oddly fitting.

I know it's been a while since you've written this, but I found it on someone's delicious recs and have proceeded to read not only this but just about all your K/S fics. Just thought I'd share how awesome this fic is!! Also, have you considered transferring any of your stories to AO3? (At least, I haven't seen them if they're there.)

Anyway, hope you have a lovely day, and if Into Darkness inspires any more fic from you I don't think anyone would complain. ;)
